A good education relies on two-way communication between school and home. Hence, parents can access the academic record of their child through Skyward. The system enables parents to view their child’s attendance, grades, discipline, and lunch account balances. Skyward is available to all enrolled students, parents can access their child’s account by providing a valid email address to the school. It is recommended that parents access Skyward through a computer or laptop.
Skyward is Perry Township Schools’ student information system
Providing information about students is easy with Skyward, the student information system in Perry Township Schools. Students can view grades and attendance, as well as check their personal information. Parents can also set up an account to follow along and participate in their child’s learning online. Parents can create a profile to follow along with their child’s progress in class. To do this, parents can first obtain a pairing code from the student’s settings. The pairing code is valid for 24 hours and can be entered on the “Parent of a Canvas User?” link on the login page.
Parents can access their child’s academic and attendance records using the Skyward Parent Portal. This site requires a valid e-mail address. It is secured by a unique username and password. Must provide an e-mail address and a maximum of three contact numbers to be eligible for access to Skyward. Parents also must provide proof of residency (such as a current utility bill) to gain access to the portal.
Parents can view portions of their child’s academic record via the internet
Under the federal law, parents can see portions of their child’s academic records. However, some schools will not give parents access to these records. They must give notice to the parent, and this is not always possible. In most cases, the school can’t request a child’s SSN. In these situations, the parent may ask the school to make the record available to them.
A federal law, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), protects the privacy of student educational records. It mandates that educational institutions disclose student information only with permission from the student. This permission must be expressed by the student. The U.S. Department of Education oversees the official student academic records. The office of the registrar provides a variety of information, including details about the privacy law and specific information for parents.
